These antique balloon bottles were primarily used for fermenting wine but were also used for the storage of other liquids.  The steel crate protected the bottles during transport and storage.

Made of a solid thick glass, their ideal convex shape made them a staple of every Mediterranean kitchen to store wine or other fermented beverages.  These vessels were also used in pharmacies.

The spherical shape with a short, narrow neck optimizes the capacity per container weight and made for easy pouring from the bottle.

These bottles and steel crate stand 560mm high and are 450mm in diameter.

Being authentic vintage and as we have multiple of this product there may be slight variations from the pictures shown.
